Microblading Aftercare

DURING THE FIRST 7 DAYS:

1. Apply the aftercare cream with a cotton bud. The application should be applied every two hours to the eyebrows on first day. First clean should be 30 minutes after treatment, last clean should be just before bed. After first day, apply cream 3-5 times daily.
2. Clients with oily skin should only apply cream on the first day and should wipe away any lymph.
3. Eyebrows must remain dry while washing the face and showering. NO soap or cleansers. Try to avoid getting brows wet for two weeks. If you must, cover tattoo with Vaseline when swimming in salt or chlorinated water to avoid bleaching (showering is fine).
4. Avoid workouts that involve excessive perspiration, saunas, facial massage and steaming (inhalation).
5. No makeup is to be applied on the brows for at least 5 days.

IN THE NEXT 30 DAYS:

1. Avoid sunbathing and tanning beds if possible. If not, apply sun block over your tattoo and wear a hat and sunglasses. However, DO NOT apply SPF in the first 7 days. Exposure to the sun over time can cause fading and colour change.
2. Avoid light therapy, chemical peels, glycolic acid, fruit acids, microdermabrasion and creams that contain regeneration factors.
3. Always avoid laser treatment over the treated area (fraxel laser, IPL), because they may destroy pigment and cause burning.
4. Use of antibiotics and hormonal therapy can lead to faster pigment fading.
5. The brow area MUST BE KEPT MOIST for successful healing without scabbing. Apply 3-5 times a day for the next month until the skin is healed and smooth.
6. Only a thin smear of cream in needed. Do not over do it.
7. No picking or scratching at scaling on the tattoo area, let the scales fall off naturally. The brows shouldn’t scab, just flake. After 4 weeks, the colour seems to take on a new strength. Often clients think they have lost their colour, it has lightened too much, wait four weeks and then judge the result. This is the reason your adjustments touch up have to be done after the 4 weeks.
